She's obviously lived with these circumstances for a while, and without having read what you have, I expect it has become (to a degree) normal, - breaking free of this &lt;I&gt;normality&lt;/I&gt; will be just as frighting as the reality.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What you've done by raising the facts with her is great - I'm sure you've suceeded in clearing a pass.
